Independence day
The posts here and earlier are snippets from my introduction to Papua New Guinea, and thus an introduction to this blog.
They have a touristy feel to them. Wonderful to have a job that permits touristy moments! The lengthy time gap appears because work kept me too busy to blog touristy stuff. Sorry about that.
This post took a while to make it onto the board, the pic is actually a float from the independence day parade in September 2009. If memory serves me right, the group is Motu-Koitabu, the two tribal groups who are the traditional landowners of the Port Moresby area. The location is Stanley Parade, outside the Steamships building; the centre of ‘Town’.
