The unique uniforms of the Asaro Mud men are the tourist attraction in Goroka, although they actually come from Asaro, about 1/2 hour further up the Highlands Highway. The legend goes that, when the Asaro tribesmen were going to have a bit of a war with a neighbouring tribe (as you do in the Highlands), they fell in a  muddy bog and came out grey with mud. When the enemy saw them, they thought they were ghosts, or something just as wierd, and fled in terror (as you do in the Highlands).

These two appear set to take a good cop, bad cop approach to their warrior duties as they meet the plane from port Moresby at Goroka Airport.
